The National College of Social Workers (CNASR) is the Romanian regulatory authority for the social work profession. It was established under Law no. 466/2004 on the status of the social worker as a professional, non-governmental, public-interest, apolitical, non-profit organisation with legal personality, autonomous and independent. CNASR is the largest and the only professional organisation of social workers in Romania, representing the interests of 14,708 members as of 1 January 2026.
