How can we strengthen the empowerment of vulnerable people in the digital age? NEF starts from a simple observation: nowadays, access to rights and autonomy increasingly depends on digital technolog but not everyone has the same means to benefit from it. This project aims to identify, promote, and co-develop innovative tools and practices to make digital technology a true lever for self-determination among vulnerable people. Empowerment means giving each individual the means to take control of their own life, by fully involving those concerned in the decisions, choices, and systems that affect them. This requires a professional approach based on “doing with,” where social workers act as facilitators of autonomy for the people they support. NEF project activities include: · Identifying and showcasing existing empowerment practices across Europe · Creating and testing digital training modules for social workers · Adapting and piloting a dedicated digital tool with service users · Disseminating the results at both national and European levels Target audiences of the project: · Vulnerable individuals (facing disability, poverty, digital exclusion, etc.) are directly involved in every stage of the project · Social workers and social work students, who work with these populations on a daily basis A committed and complementary partnership: · IRTS Hauts-de-France (France) – project coordinator and expert in social work training · Habble (France) – developer of digital tools promoting autonomy for people with disabilities · CNASR (Romania) – The National College of Social Workers in Romania, a professional network with 11,800 members · ASSOC (Romania) – a grassroots organization committed for 30 years to the social inclusion of vulnerable groups · Logopsycom (Belgium) – an educational innovation center focused on inclusion and digital tools · Aproximar (Portugal) – a Portuguese cooperative specialized in social policy and empowerment Stay tuned!
